Literacy Outreach Coordinators help adults take the first step towards improving their literacy skills, and direct them towards other resources that may be of help. Group tutoring provides personalized reading, writing and basic math support, and also offers childcare, transportation and food.

Training is provided for leaders of weekly parent-child playgroups, including training in offering family literacy and early literacy programs. Training is also offered for Aboriginal parents who want help to foster their children’s literacy development and learning parenting skills.
Some of the services we provide are:
  • Assistance with complex documents, such as court forms or disability allowance
  • Help with filing taxes and assistance with tax preparation
  • Debt or personal money management
  • Credit applications
  • Applications for CPP, OAP, BC Medical, Fair Pharmacare and identification documents
