Our Bright Red Bookshelves are currently postponed due to COVID restrictions, so to make sure families can continue to have books at home, we introduce you to the Brown Bag of Books! CCPL will put together a selection of books for families to take home for children aged 0-12 years. Contact us and let us know your child’s age and interests and we will let you know when your bag is ready to be picked up!

Does your child love new books?
The Bright Red Bookshelf program gives all children the gift of reading by sharing new and gently used children’s books at no cost to families.  The books are available at convenient locations around Williams Lake and 100 Mile House. More than 10,800 books are distributed by the Bright Red Bookshelf program annually!
We believe that a regular access to books is important in fostering an interest in reading and a love for books. Our goal is to encourage children to develop confidence and a love for reading by providing easily accessible books which can be read again and again.
We currently have twenty-four bookshelf locations; find your closest one below!

"When I discovered Bright Red Bookshelves, I was amazed to find these books were available for free. I have been reading with my granddaughters ever since and have created some wonderful memories and a closer bond with them."
